DESCRIPTION:Churches United of the Quad Cities Area will be celebrating the 55th Annual Delegate Assembly. Featured speaker for this event will be Dr. Tony Campolo. Dr. Campolo is Professor of Sociology at Eastern University and an ordained pastor and leader of the Red Letter Christian movement. He presently hosts “Across the Pond\,” a weekly program on the Premier Christian Radio Network in England. Dr. Campolo serves as Associate Pastor of the Mount Carmel Baptist Church in West Philadelphia. His website is www.TonyCampolo.org. \nPlease join us for this special event and to welcome Dr. Campolo. SUMMARY:Endowment & Financial Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Ruling and Teaching Elders are called to their leadership roles\, often for their excellence in areas far removed from the financial management of a church.  Should you have an endowment?  How is it managed?  Does having an endowment hurt annual stewardship?  How does the church manage cash flow when pledges are paid quarterly?  Does your congregation make decisions from a sense of scarcity or a confidence in God’s abundance? \n  \nStudies show that donors – your members – want to see transparency in financial management and they want to see that their gifts make a difference in ministry and mission.  Generational giving patterns suggest that older members see the value in a “savings account” and younger members are frustrated that so many needs in the world are not being met. \n  \nThis workshop will address those questions\, best practices in flourishing churches\, some ways to kick-start giving\, services that the Presbyterian Foundation can offer\, and answers to the questions you bring! \nPlease contact Sarah Hegar by Monday\, April 11 to register.
