SUMMARY:Conversation with PCUSA Moderator Rada
DESCRIPTION:This invitation is extended on behalf of Moderator Heath Rada to participate in\na conversation lead by Moderator Rada\non Saturday\, March 12\, 2016 at\nCollegiate Presbyterian Church\,\n159 N. Sheldon Avenue\, Ames\nbeginning at 10:00 a.m. \nThe goal for this gathering: \n“In these series of conversations around the country\, designed to engender broad participation\, groups are encouraged to develop an inspirational and aspirational statement of their best hopes and dreams for our denomination\, along with ideas that point the way those hopes might be realized.” \nThe Reason: \nThe 2016 General Assembly in Portland\, Oregon will be addressing questions about the way forward for our church\, and the hope is to collect as much raw material from as many members and groups in advance to jump-start their discussions of discernment. These community conversations provide additional input\, supplementing the information gathered by the Committee of the Office of the General Assembly (COGA). \nThis is open to all\, however Moderator Rada is hoping this gathering will draw responses especially from small churches. \nParticipants are encouraged to access a copy of the Moderator’s Call to the Church\, which can be downloaded from the PC(USA) website at the following address:\nhttp://www.pcusa.org/news/2016/1/20/pcusa-moderator-takes-call-church-road/ \nIf there are questions\, please contact Rev. David Feltman at dfeltman@presbynciowa.org or 319 231 3570. The cost for lunch is $10.00 \nRSVP to Kay Lenhart by Thursday\, March 3rd at 712-732-2097 or at thehill@prospecthillpresby.org
