Rev. T. Denise Anderson, Coordinator, Racial and Intercultural Justice, at Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and Co-Moderator of the 222nd General Assembly (2016-18) has agreed to be our November Presbytery Meeting Speaker! We are excited to hear her message and share it throughout the covenant community.
Rev. Anderson challenged our Presbytery to participate in an All-Presbytery Book Read in anticipation for the event. She has selected the book Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents by Isabel Wilkerson.
The Presbytery Coordinating Commission (PCC) encourages all members of the Presbytery of East Iowa to read this book. We will organize book groups and discussion around the book in the fall.
In an effort to support Black and minority-owned bookstores as well as local, independent book stores, the PCC suggests purchasing the book from one of these resources.
