In their Iowa City debut, the The Kevin Bales & Keri Johnsrud Quartet will play from their recent jazz album covering the surprisingly sophisticated songs written by the late children’s television icon and Presbyterian minister, Mister Fred Rogers. The event is part of St. Andrew’s weekend-long series of events, “‘A Neighbor Just Like You’: The Music and Message of Fred Rogers.” All the events will take place in St. Andrew’s new building at 140 Gathering Place Lane, near the intersection of Highway 218 and Melrose Avenue in Iowa City.
