In the Fall of 2025, two teams from the Presbytery of East Iowa traveled to El Paso, Texas. They participated in a Border Encounter Educational Mission Trip in partnership with Rev. Marta Pumroy of the Tres Rios Border Foundation and Abara Borderland Connections (an organization dedicated to fostering understanding and dialogue around immigration and border issues). The worship service from our January stated meeting was led by trip participants.  Also, First Presbyterian in Mt. Pleasant hosted a border encounter presentation on February 1st.
