The Way Forward. In an effort to find a way forward for the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), the General Assembly voted to create two entities — a 2020 Vision Team to develop a “guiding statement” for the PC(USA), and a Way Forward administrative commission to determine the structure and function of General Assembly agencies.

Apology/ regret.
The assembly voted 463-51 for a conciliatory statement of regret, rather than an outright apology, for its past treatment of members of the LGBTQ/Q community.

Mid Councils.
Assembly votes for synods to stay the same.

Mission coordination.
The assembly passed overtures addressing the needs of women and African-American males.

Mission co-worker commissioning.
Eight new mission workers and one long-term volunteer were commissioned.

Dependent care reimbursement policy. Two blogs (one from Greg Bolt; one from Jacob Bolton) reflect on the new policy at this GA.

Blogger Leon Bloder says they are the “church of now.”
